Ascend to Glory: Four Competitors, One Cup, Endless Legacy
Published: 09/10/2024
The Pro Wrestling Malta fans are in for a treat at Ascend to Glory, as they will witness the second iteration of the Baron Mikel Scicluna Memorial Cup. The Baron was a legendary Maltese pro wrestler, reaching the WWE Hall of Fame through his expertise in Tag Team wrestling, being a two-time WWWF Tag Team Champion in the 60s and 70s.
The inaugural winner of this prestigious trophy was none other than the Magical Jack Quinn, getting the best of the Noble One, Owen Blanco, the Ringleader Neil Hendrix, and UK’s Nathan Black in a thrilling Fatal-4-Way bout. This year it will be another 4-way, featuring the returning TJ Sky, the Mexican Sensation Helios, The Freashow’s Twisted Tommy, and another return, this time the Hungarian Ron Corvus.
All four competitors will be looking to make history and become the second-ever winner of the Baron Mikel Scicluna Memorial Cup. We know Helios has been keeping busy, having recently traveled to London to compete for British Empire Wrestling. Meanwhile Twisted Tommy will be looking to build on The Freakshow’s momentum, having decimated the team of Hamez, Mylan and Lil Mao at Pro Wrestling Malta’s last event, Summertime Madness IV.
The last time TJ Sky graced Maltese shores was back in late 2019 at PWM: Collision, where he suffered a crushing defeat, losing the PWM Tag Team Championship. Now, with fire in his eyes and a score to settle, he’s returning this November to reclaim his legacy and capture the coveted Memorial Cup.
Ron Corvus, meanwhile, was last seen locally when he challenged then-Tag Team Champions Second II None to a grueling hardcore match, where he and his partner Ozzy powerbombed Hamez through a table. However, it was not enough to get the victory. He, too, returns with his sights set on the prestigious Memorial Cup, determined to leave his mark on Maltese wrestling history.
Who will etch their name in Maltese wrestling history and claim the coveted Baron Mikel Scicluna Memorial Cup? Be there to witness history in the making on November 2nd at Montekristo.
