Published: 13/06/2019

Gianni Valletta started his wrestling career at the age of 20 when he moved to England to start his training. After spending a number of years of training and wrestling mainly in UK, he returned to Malta and created Pro Wrestling Malta. PWM was always a goal Gianni Valletta wanted to accomplish. This was a way to start a local wrestling scene and also giving local wrestling fans the chance to start their path in professional wrestling by training at the PWM Dojo.

During the first year and a half of PWM, Gianni Valletta faced a number of top european talent such as Kenzo Richards and current NXT UK star Pete Dunne. However during this time he was also in a feud against the top heel and then PWM Champion Francesco Messina and his stable La Famiglia. Valletta reached the top of PWM at Eat Sleep Wrestle Repeat when became the PWM Champion after beating Messina and Zach Gibson in a triple threat match.

Gianni Valletta kept the belt for a record 18 months and managed to defend the belt against top names such as Mark Haskins and Red Scorpion. With continuous matches around Europe and also two US tours under his belt, Valletta ultimately lost his championship to Glamorous Roddy. Since then Valletta has spent most of this past year making a name for himself in Japan with AJPW, teaming up with Tajiri and also competing in the prestigious Champion Carnival tournament.

Gianni Valletta will be back in Malta and in action at Green-Mist on the 13th of July. You can get your tickets here
